Trade fairs and events remain an important tool in the marketing mix and are essential for holistic communication. Such in-person events are multidimensional and evoke lasting emotions. Values can be made tangible, and products can be touched and tested. Additionally, direct interaction fosters understanding and conviction for products or services. We design events for our clients, including trade fairs, festival presences, partner meetings, and classic POS campaigns.

Head of Event & Live Communication at modem conclusa: Kathrin Milde
As the Head of the Event & Live Communication team, I keep a close eye on the events industry, identify various new trends with the help of my team, and actively support my colleagues in the conception, planning, and execution of client events (online & offline). Together with our clients, we develop target-specific formats. For this, we work closely with our strong network of service providers, such as exhibition constructors and catering, and use current analog and digital tools.
Our goal is always to execute sustainable events (both B2C and B2B) – not only because they demonstrate corporate responsibility but also to minimize environmental impact. We follow quality standards for events and live communication, which we have developed in a specially designed checklist and a solid, validated project plan . The following criteria are essential to us:
The annual CO₂ footprint of the global events industry accounts for more than 10% of worldwide CO₂ emissions (Dr. Michael Geißer, 2022).
- Environmental Impact: Large events such as conferences, festivals, and trade fairs often significantly impact the environment, including increased energy consumption, waste production, and greenhouse gas emissions. Sustainable events help reduce these effects by adopting eco-friendly practices such as recycling, upcycling, circular economy, reuse, energy saving, and low-emission transportation. The approach is always: avoid, reduce, and compensate to minimize the CO₂ emissions and other impacts of the event.
- Social Awareness: Events that showcase sustainable practices, values, and messages can help raise awareness of this critical transformation and convey positive messages. Experiences invite participants to become inspired and emotionally engaged, encouraging immediate imitation and action.
- Corporate Responsibility: Companies have a responsibility to minimize their impact on the environment and society. As part of their commitment to sustainability, they must demonstrate this responsibility in their events, actively contributing to a better future.
- Economic Benefits: Sustainable event planning, including energy and resource savings, can help reduce costs.
As a qualified brand manager with extensive experience and expertise in conception, planning, and execution, I know what to focus on in sustainable events. Through agile, holistic project management, targeted communication, and a strong commitment to execution, modem conclusa prioritizes sustainability in events as part of a comprehensive communication strategy – so that no one has to miss out on togetherness and exchange.
