THE CULTURE OF RELATIONS

Press and Public Relations for Kloster Plankstetten

As part of the construction project and the opening event of the St. Wunibald Guesthouse, modem conclusa took on and successfully implemented the press and public relations work for Kloster Plankstetten. The guesthouse is the largest timber-straw building in southern Germany, making it a unique reference project for climate-friendly construction.

The goal of our communication efforts was to position the guesthouse as a climate-friendly travel destination and as a place of peace, while also highlighting it as an innovative and ecological building project. To achieve this, modem conclusa engaged with various media outlets in the tourism and construction sectors.

Publications in various daily newspapers, such as the Süddeutsche Zeitung, and in trade media, including Gebäude Energieberater, generated both regional and national attention for Kloster Plankstetten. A feature in the Frankfurter Allgemeinen Sonntagszeitung alone reached 740,000 readers. Additionally, radio interviews on sustainable tourism were conducted, and TV reports on Kloster Plankstetten as a sustainable travel destination were broadcast on Sat.1 Bayern, ARD, BR, and arte.

For the opening event in April 2022, modem conclusa organized a panel discussion featuring industry experts from the tourism sector. Under the theme:
“Regionality, Sustainability, and Mindfulness = The Future of Tourism? Kloster Plankstetten as a Role Model”, panelists discussed the opportunities and challenges of sustainable tourism. Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder attended the event, emphasizing the importance of climate-friendly construction using sustainable materials and praising Kloster Plankstetten as an international role model for sustainable building. With the St. Wunibald Guesthouse, Kloster Plankstetten has created a place where guests can fully experience the concept of sustainability. It demonstrates how the trio of regionality, sustainability, and mindfulness can be successfully implemented in both the construction and tourism industries. We greatly enjoyed supporting Kloster Plankstetten with our communication work, helping to generate attention for these crucial topics: ecological construction and sustainable tourism.
